With 17 regions populated by more than 48 million people, Spain is a country with a rich and diverse culture, which also holds true for Spanish cuisine. According to Alexandra Cacho, Executive Chef at Origine Spanish Cuisine Restaurant, the different regions in Spain not only have different ways of eating, but also have different produce and other ingredients.
So when putting together the menu for Origine Restaurant, Cacho, who has previously handled other Spanish restaurants in Metro Manila, made sure to include every part of Spain that she could. In an episode of Menu, PLS! on Plus Media, Cacho revealed how she came up with the menu for Origine Restaurant, some of their bestsellers and must-try dishes, and her mission of taking customers to a journey through Spain’s rich and diverse cuisine and experience the different flavors of the country’s dishes.
As someone who has spent most of her life in the Philippines, Cacho is aware that Filipinos know how to enjoy their food and have already been exposed to American, Japanese, Chinese, and even Spanish cuisine. At Origine Restaurant, which is located inside the Brittany Hotel in Bonifacio Global City, some of Cacho’s creations and signature dishes include the Entrecote Frito, Plato Ibericos, Gilda Cosmo, Pintxo Scallop and Shrimp, and Pintxo Chistora. Aside from their delectable dishes, Origine also has a wide selection of Spanish wines and Spanish desserts that will make sure that patrons come back for more.
When asked for recommendations, Cacho reveals that she prefers customers to make their own choice and pick any dish on the restaurant’s menu, although aware of Filipinos’ love for rice, she wants them to try their Paella. But whether their customers prefer meat or fish, there’s no shortage of options in Origine’s menu, which is guaranteed to give customers an unforgettable dining experience as they go experience the different regions of Spain through their authentic Spanish dishes.
