Have Fun This Tag-Ulan: Indoor Activities

It’s that time of the year once again—malamig ang simoy ng hangin, waking up to the sweet smell of hot chocolate, and just curling up in bed and spending time with your family. Nope, it’s not yet Christmas; just the rainy season.

Though we do advise caution during this time (check out these Parenting Tips to Prepare for Rainy Season), we also encourage you to still create memorable moments with your family. Be it at home or visiting nearby places, make your family bonding experiences year-round! Here are a few activities you can enjoy at home and even a few places you can visit to enjoy indoor activities this rainy season.

Do check for weather advisories and the roads and traffic situation before heading out though to avoid typhoons and floods. Make your family bonding fun and exciting but don’t forget to mind the weather and be careful of your surroundings. If going out, choose a mild day to do so. We advise caution. 😊

Home activities

Nothing is better than kicking back and relaxing with your family members. You don’t have to go out to have a good time. Here are some family bonding activities you can do inside the house.

Board Games

Board games are not only fun but can be good mental exercises for you and your children. Be it good old scrabble or an intense game of monopoly, there’s sure to be a board game out there for your family!

For those feeling a bit more adventurous, here are some new board games you might want to try out.

Movie Marathons

Being stuck in your house is the best excuse to re-binge all those movies you love to watch. Watch your family favorites all over again, including cult classics like all the Star Wars and Lord of the Rings movies!

Cooking

For those who love to warm up the house with some home cooked meals, it’s a good opportunity to try out those new recipes you saw on the internet! Cook or bake with your children and who knows, it might signal the birth of a new chef in the house!

If you’ve run out of movies to watch, games to play, and food to cook, and could use a change of scenery, there are a lot of other options you can bring your family to and enjoy together:

Indoor Sports & Activities

When bad weather prevented them from leaving the house, people invented indoor games and sports for amusement and activity. Below are some of your not-so-run-of-the-mill sports you might have always wanted to try. Bring your children along too and learn together.
