With people still spending most of their time at home, there are many ways for them to stay physically fit and build endurance without leaving their homes. Here are three endurance workouts from entrepreneur, digital content creator, and fitness guide Marie Field-Faith to help you achieve an empowered mind and strong body from the comforts of your home:
Before beginning your endurance workouts, make sure that you have an open space in your home, a towel, and water for hydration.
Burpees – This endurance workout will engage your legs, hips, chest, arms, and shoulders. To begin the workout, you should engage your core, place both your hands down, and go into a plank position. Then, kick your legs in, and prepare to stand up before jumping. Don’t forget to breathe, especially during the hardest parts of the exercise. Do this for 40 seconds and then rest for 20 seconds, then do 3-4 rounds of the routine per workout.
Jumping Lunges – This routine is a combination of a lunge and a plyometric jump. It is a good calorie burner that mostly challenges the lower part of our body and gives our heart the boost that it needs. To do the workout, you need to lunge back, jump, lunge back down. You need to relax your shoulders, keep your core engaged, and jump again while making sure to land softly. Do this for 40 seconds and rest for 20 seconds, then do 3-4 rounds of the routine per workout.
Mountain Climbers – This workout is a combination of strength training, cardio, and core strength. To do the routine, you need to start in a plank position, keep your hands slightly wider than your shoulders, drive your knees in. You should do this slowly at first to get used to the motion. Make sure that you don’t lift your hips as you do this. Then, once you have settled, you try to go as fast as you can, which will elevate your heart rate and give you a good cardio burn. Do this for 40 seconds and rest for 20 seconds, then do 3-4 rounds of the routine per workout.
Doing these workouts at home not only builds up your endurance but will also teach you the value of perseverance. For more fitness tips, you can watch episodes of Let’s Get Physical or visit Plus Network on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
