With the first month of the year almost done, it’s a good time as any to check on your New Year’s resolution. One of the most common resolutions that people have at the start of the year is eating healthy, but it can be challenging to follow through on it. According to celebrity chef Alyana Asistio, the key to meeting this resolution is to take it one step at a time.
To help us accomplish our goal of eating healthier, Asistio reveals two types of smoothies that we can make at home, one which will help boost our immunity and another one which we can drink after a workout. The banana yogurt smoothie is the post-workout smoothie, while the spinach detox smoothie is the immunity-boosting smoothie, and both drinks are delicious while offering several health benefits.
Banana Yogurt Smoothie
To make this post-workout smoothie, you need the following ingredients:
- 2 pcs frozen bananas
- 2 tbsps of plain yogurt
- 1 cup of milk or soy milk
- 1 tsp of cinnamon powder
- 2 tbsps of honey
- 1 cup of ice
Once you have these ingredients, you will pour them into a blender, mix them using the blender, and pour them into glasses. The banana yogurt smoothie in particular is perfect for people who just finished working out and can’t cook but still want to have something healthy.
Spinach Detox Smoothie
To make this immunity-boosting smoothie, you need the following ingredients:
- 1 pc carrot (peeled and chopped)
- 1 pc orange (peeled and chopped)
- 1 pc ginger (grated)
- 2 pcs ripe bananas (peeled)
- 1/2 cup of spinach
- 1 tbsp of parsley
- 2 tbsps of lemon juice
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cup of ice
After you have gathered these ingredients, as with the banana yogurt smoothie, you will pour them into a blender and mix the ingredients before pouring them into glasses. While the banana yogurt smoothie is an ideal post-workout smoothie, the spinach detox smoothie should boost our immunity, which is important during the COVID-19 pandemic. By following these simple steps, you can make two healthy smoothies to help you accomplish your goal of eating better this year!
